Fall Sports Coach Conversations – Cross Country

I am Ivan Burns, and I’m a two-year member of the Prep News team. This is my second year on the newspaper staff. As a senior, I have also returned to broadcasting for Rockhurst. I’m ready to get to work for the upcoming school year. When I’m not writing, you can usually find me playing tennis or spending time with family. I also work with the Business Club, selling the nostalgic blue Rockhurst lockers to alumni and other people who want a piece of Rockhurst history. I am also grateful for the opportunity to lead a Kairos retreat later this year. I am a massive Chiefs, Royals, K-State and Cardinals (I know, I’m a traitor) fan. I avidly follow all of these teams and, of course, all Rockhurst Hawklets athletics. This year, I will be broadcasting various Rockhurst sporting events. My goals and plans for the future here on the Prep News staff are to contribute, and help the staff evolve and grow. I also hope to inspire and encourage the next group of reporters and writers here at Rockhurst. I look forward to the chance to expand Prep News to not only students, but also alumni and parents in our community.
