Rockhurst High School held its annual Grandparent Mass on Sunday, March 5, a ceremony that brought together students and their beloved seniors in a celebration of faith and family.

The event, held in the Performance Gym, saw grandparents of Rockhurst students gather to celebrate in a special Mass. The Mass was led by Rockhurst’s principal, Father Vincent Giacabazi, who emphasized the importance of family and the role of grandparents in the lives of their grandchildren.

Following the Mass, attendees were treated to a brunch from FLIK of breakfast casserole, sausage and cinnamon pastries in the Barry Commons.

“This year’s brunch was way better than last year,” said one grandparent. “I hope that Rockhurst can do this next year.”

The event was well-received by all who attended, with many grandparents grateful for the opportunity to get a glimpse of their grandchild’s school experience.

“It meant so much to be able to share this time with my grandson and to see the community that he is a part of,” said Ron Slaymaker, grandparent of senior Tate Slaymaker.
