This is my first year writing for Prep News. I am currently a junior, and I joined the Prep News after some of my friends recommended it. I went to Nativity Parish School before I came to Rockhurst.

I decided to become part of the Prep News team for a few reasons. First, I want to be more involved with the things happening throughout the school. Second, I want to become a better writer, so I can improve more in my English class and any other classes that require me to write essays. My third reason is to hopefully meet tons of new students as well as staff members in our school. I’d also like to bring positive attention to our school better by writing about the good things our sports teams and clubs do as well as increase the profile of Prep News and the student journalists that make up the staff.

Outside of classes, I play soccer for Rockhurst in the fall, CYO basketball in winter, and during my summers, I work as a lifeguard at Leawood City Pool.

After high school, I want to go into mechanical engineering or some sort of design field. I am still not sure yet.
