My name is Jake Bond, and I am a junior in my first year on the Prep News staff. I always found that I enjoyed writing most when I could cover things I really cared about, and this seemed like the right outlet for that passion. As someone also considering studies in media or journalism, I wanted to learn more about the work and attention to detail that goes into quality journalism.

Outside of newspaper, I am a captain on the cross country team, a 4×800 meter relay state champion in track and a candidate for NHS. I work as a lifeguard during summers and have spent countless hours running down the Ward Parkway median. My hobbies include reading, listening to music, watching TV, sports and movies, fishing, and hanging out with my friends. Following high school, I’ve thought about studying journalism, hopefully at a top program for the field.
