My name is Ivan Burns, and I am a returning member of the Prep News staff after being on the broadcasting team for a semester last year. This is my first year on the newspaper staff. I have always enjoyed writing and sharing the news in our Rockhurst community. Now, I am grateful to get the chance to write for such a prestigious and historic staff.

I am a third year member of the Rockhurst tennis team. I am also a returning member of the Entrepreneurship Club. I have two younger brothers, one of which is a freshman here. I love spending time with my big, vibrant family.

I am a massive Chiefs, Royals, K-State and Cardinals (I know, I'm a traitor) fan. I avidly follow all of these teams and, of course, all Rockhurst Hawklets athletics. Many times on the weekends, I will be watching K-State football and attending Chiefs games.

My goals and plans for the future here on the Prep News staff are to contribute, and help the staff evolve and grow. I also hope to inspire and encourage the next group of reporters and writers here at Rockhurst.
