Rock Talk for Nov. 7

My name is Liam Daly, and I am a senior on the Prep News staff, focused on broadcasting. This is my third semester on staff. I wanted to be a part of this, because I really enjoyed being a part of it both my junior and freshman year. Another reason I wanted to be on staff is that I feel like there is so much to showcase at Rockhurst, and want to be a part of keeping the community up to date on everything that’s happening around campus. Last year, I did a lot of highlights for the soccer team and covered their historic season, and hope to do so again. Besides broadcasting, I am a linebacker on the football team and middle blocker for the volleyball team. I have a mowing business, enjoy watching sports and spending time with family and friends. In the future, I hope to study journalism in college and am in the process of finding a school to attend. I am extremely excited to be a part of the Prep News staff this year, and can’t wait to share my work with everyone. I’m looking forward to a great semester on staff and can't wait to get started!

My name is Henry Algrim, and this is my first year on the Prep News staff after taking Intro to Broadcasting for a semester as a sophomore. I am now a senior, and I am part of the Prep News Media team in the Broadcasting II class. I am excited for this new chapter and being able to film and edit with expertise. I wanted to join the Prep News staff because it is interesting, and a cool skill to have to be able to take sequences of shots from a camera and cut it up into a watchable highlight reel or montage. I am not very good with computers, so I am looking forward to enhancing my editing and electronic skills. I am looking forward to filming my fellow classmates accomplish great feats all over the school, whether it’s academics, clubs, sports or anything else. I was on the football team my freshman year and the golf team sophomore year. I got cut from the golf team my junior year, but I am poised to make a comeback for the ages this year. I also love supporting the Rockhurst football team by going to all the games with my classmates, and I intended to be a yell leader this football season as well. I want to finish my senior year off strongly and make as many memories as possible before I either attend the University of Kansas or a couple SEC schools I’m looking at. I’m not truly sure what I want my future to look like, but I know the future will be bright.
